Northern Nigeria Christian Association Alleges Conspiracy In Chibok Abductions, Poses Six Queries To Borno Governor

The Northern Nigeria chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says it suspects a conspiracy regarding the abducted girls of Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, involving Governor Kashim Shettima, the Commissioner for Education, the Principal of the school and the Chief Security Officer (CS0).

Among others, in a statement issued today, it noted that neither the daughters of the teachers nor of the Principal were abducted.

In the statement, signed by the Secretary-General, Prof. Daniel Babayi, and the Public Relations Officer, Sunday Oibe, CAN asked whether the governor has set up any panel since the abduction of the girls three weeks ago to investigation the matter.

8 Lesbian Girls Expelled From Secondary School

Barely a week after the the local newspaper covered a story about the rising number of lesbians in Girls High Schools all over the country, the administration has now sent home eight girls over the matter.

The school’s principal, Pacifica Nyambong’i said that a group of eight students in Form Two, who were also jointly being investigated for arson claims, had been sent home and others readmitted after undergoing counseling and promising to change. The principal admitted that some Form Two students confessed to being lesbians who had lovers in the school while other girls denied the allegations.

“I received a note listing some girls as suspected lesbians who also planned to burn down the school on December 10th, we embarked on investigations to unearth the truth,” Ms Nyambog’i revealed. Those who confessed to being lesbians were forgiven, counseled and readmitted but those who denied were sent home.

The parents of those sent home have however mounted a strong defence to the allegations claiming that their girls were beaten during the interrogations in order to admit by force.

Also, Anglican run St James Girls High School in Zimbabwe has been hit by a lesbian “s*x” scandal which has resulted in the expulsion of pupils, one of them for offering a teacher s*x in exchange for lenience after being caught in the act. Continue reading

Nigeria: N93 Million Bribe – Lawan, Emenalo Get Bail

An Abuja High Court yesterday granted bail to the former Chairman of House of Representative Ad Hoc Committee on fuel subsidy, Farouk Lawan, and the secretary of the committee, Boniface Emenalo. The two men have been in held in prison for about a week.

They are being prosecuted by the Federal Government for collecting $620, 000 (N93 million) as bribe from business man, Femi Otedola, to remove his company, Zenon Oil, from the list of indicted companies.

Justice Mudashiru Oniyangi in his ruling on the bail application by defense counsel, Ricky Tafa (SAN) held that granting bail is a judicial discretion which must be exercised based on facts and circumstances. Continue reading

12 PDP Governors To Join New party APC

About 12 governors, who are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, may join the newly formed political party, All Progressive Congress.

photoOur correspondent gathered that the governors were already talking with the leaders of the newly formed political party.

Investigations further showed that some of the governors were already thinking of how to leave the party and join the newly formed APC.

The new party was formed by the merging of the Action Congress of Nigeria, All Nigeria Peoples Party, All Progressive Grand Alliance and Congress for Progressive Change.

It was gathered that some other minor political parties had also discussed with the newly former political party.

Sources close the PDP said the party was already fidgeting that some of its governors and lawmakers could leave the party.

A member of the National Working Committee of the PDP, who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said the leadership of the party and the Presidency were afraid that their governors could abandon the umbrella.

This is the story of a young boy whose parents were murdered during 2002 riots in Kaduna.

He was aged 11 years at the time. His parents, Mr Austine and Mrs Josephine Moses, were missionaries until they met their untimely death. The boy left his house to play football but returned home and learned painful truth that he would never see his mother and father again.

He was taken to London by his uncle almost immediately after the incident. While in London, he began deploying his football skills.

Though his parents were murdered, his passion for football was never killed. He played football for his school and later for a local Tandrige League club until Crystal Palace FC approached him. From that point, his career progressed in leaps and bounds.

This player played for England’s under 16, 17, 19 and 21 teams between 2005 and 2010 scoring 11 goals for England during this period. He later moved to Wigan Athletic and now he plays for Chelsea.

FTC Budgets N5 Billion For Commercial Sex Workers

The Federal Capital Territory has proposed to spend N5 billion this year to rehabilitate prostitutes and destitutes who loiter the streets of Abuja.

The FCTA as part of moves to remove prostitutes and destitute from the streets of the Federal Capital City, FCC, has set up two training centres in Bwari Area Council and Lugbe in Anuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC.

The Abuja Environmental Protection Board, AEPB, will be in charge of removing the prostitutes and destitutes from the streets while their rehabilitation will be handled by Social Development Secretariat.

According to a source from the FCTA, the prostitutes when arrested, will be taken to Lugbe where they will be engaged in vocational training in hairdressing, making of yoghurt, computer training, among others for a minimum period of three months. The programme which commenced last year has already graduated over 1,000 of such persons. Continue reading

Update: Why We Agreed To Ceasefire- Boko Haram Faction

A group claiming to be a faction of the Jamatu Ahlis Sunnah lil daawati wal jihad sect, popularly known as Boko Haram, said on Monday that it decided to ceasefire in Maiduguri because they had come to a realization that Muslims suffer from the attacks.

The group is led by one Abu Mohamed Abdulazeez who claims to be the second in command in the sect’s leadership hierarchy. He also claimed to have spoken on behalf of the overall leader of the sect, Abubakar Shekau.

Mr. Abdulazeez, who spoke in Hausa language, told journalists in Maiduguri that it decided to end the crisis so that fellow Muslims can live peacefully. Continue reading
