The Muslim Eid al-Adha prayers in Ilorin, capital of Kwara state were this morning disrupted as the country’s embattled Senate president, Bukola Saraki was pelted with stones and pure water sachets as he arrived in his car convoy.
The chaos caused by the stoning of the senate president who has been charged with 13 counts of corruption and false asset declaration, caused the prayers to be disrupted with the loud speakers not calling the prayers and several thousands of faithfuls unable to say the prayers.

Blast rocks bus station in north Nigeria: Witnesses

Boko Haram, witnesses said, in what appeared to be the latest crack in the government’s purported ceasefire with the Islamists.

“We had a huge blast at exactly 9:45 pm … We realised it had come from the bus station,” said Musa Babale, a resident of the town of Azare in Bauchi state where the blast occurred.

“The whole place was a mess,” he said.

The police and military did not answer calls seeking comment but another resident of the affected area near the Kano road said the security forces had surrounded the site. Continue reading

B-R-E-A-K-I-N-G NEWS: KADUNA RECORD NEW EBOLA CASE

A 19- year old student of Law at the Ahmadu Bello University is suspected to be down with the deadly Ebola virus in Kaduna.

The Public Relations Officer, Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, ABUTH, Bilyaminu Umar, while confirming the case on Monday when contacted via phone said the student was diagnosed at ABUTH, Shika, Zaria, and that he showed some symptoms associated with the disease.

“Yes, there was a case of a suspected Ebola patient. He is with the Faculty of Law, ABU, Zaria and will be placed on isolation. I am out of town, but will confirm details on my return from a trip,” he said.

However, experts have said not all patients who manifest some symptoms of the virus end up testing positive to the disease. A definitive test will have to confirm that.

Although the ABUTH spokesperson confirmed the development, only the Federal Ministry of Health, in conjunction with the Kaduna state government, can authoritatively confirm if the case is indeed that of Ebola.

Northern Nigeria Christian Association Alleges Conspiracy In Chibok Abductions, Poses Six Queries To Borno Governor

The Northern Nigeria chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) says it suspects a conspiracy regarding the abducted girls of Government Girls Secondary School in Chibok, Borno State, involving Governor Kashim Shettima, the Commissioner for Education, the Principal of the school and the Chief Security Officer (CS0).

Among others, in a statement issued today, it noted that neither the daughters of the teachers nor of the Principal were abducted.

In the statement, signed by the Secretary-General, Prof. Daniel Babayi, and the Public Relations Officer, Sunday Oibe, CAN asked whether the governor has set up any panel since the abduction of the girls three weeks ago to investigation the matter.
